Description

In 1967, David Rancourt started the Rancourt family on the path to crafting some of the highest quality footwear in the world. The 1967 Collection is a reflection of the Rancourt family's heritage in shoemaking. Each pair in the 1967 collection is unlined and cut from heavyweight Chromepak, a leather that was ubiquitous in Maine moccasin making in the 1960's. This 10-15oz. leather is unparalleled in durability as it is remarkably thick and rugged while the high oil content helps it retain some pliability while adding exceptional pull-up. The Vibram 232 Mini-lug soles lend a traditional look that complements the heavy chromepak leather with added versatility and durability.

5 Stars

These run about 1/2 size large. I’m a 10D and the 9.5D fit great. Also, the leather stretches a little with wear. They’re excellent! Quality leather and construction. A nice dark brown. They have a nuke-proof appearance. I’m very pleased with my purchase.

Uncomfortable insoles

Like other Rancourt shoes, for me these suffer from a 3/4 sole insert. The transtion of the footbed from the back 3/4 into the forward 1/4 is uncomfortable. They look great though.

Perfect fit straight out of the box.

Supa! I am delighted. I wish cromepak was made in black. And these had a black or brown crepe sole. But the vibram is fine.

Excellent

Arrived just in time for summer, which these will be perfect for. The Vibram mini lug is a secret weapon that provides tons of grip for a variety of terrain yet with a subtle and classy look. The Chromepak leather looks super thick yet is surprisingly flexible and comfortable. In a year when loafers are everywhere, this is one of the more unique makeups.

Extra wide too loose

Not as well made as my Rancourt penny loafers. These were delayed four months because of a labour shortage and it is possible I ordered the incorrect width. They were extra wide and are slightly too loose on my feet but that can be resolved with an insole. The back of the shoe is a single cut piece of leather and therefore doesn’t sit on my heel as easy. Slightly less happy for these reasons.
