Description

The Acadia Chukka is the latest addition to our handsewn collection. A chukka is a short, ankle-height, boot that typically has two or three rows of eyelets. The Acadia strikes the perfect balance between summer moccasins and winter boots making it the ideal transitional footwear between summer and fall. We've kept the Acadia unlined for comfort so the uppers can quickly mold to your feet but also for superior breathability in warmer weather. New this Fall, we have added Driftwood, C.F. Stead's iconic Waxy Commander suede. All uppers are water resistant so you don't have to worry about keeping your feet dry when the weather turns. The Acadia Chukka also features our Reltex Rallye white sole.  Genuine Handsewn Moccasin Construction, Made in Maine, USA.

Great for Non-toxic Earthing in Wet Winter Months

I found the Acadia Chukka Redux with Lactae Hevea soles to be both non-toxic and earthing (grounding), which is what I bought them for. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is that I would have preferred a barefoot shaped sole - they are rather pointed in the toes so I had to buy a larger size (the shoes are true to size for length) to get the width to spread my toes out like someone in bare feet, which is great for balance and very healthy. I wear them with very thick 100% merino wool ski socks in winter because there is no other type of earthing shoe that handles the wet and puddles when walking on wet grass which is the best condition for effective earthing. Thank you Rancourt for producing non-toxic earthing shoes that are durable in all weather conditions. To my knowledge, you are the only place on earth where I can get suitable shoes for this purpose. I am in Australia.

So comfortable

These boots are great. They go with a wide variety of outfits. Excellent quality. Comfortable the first time I put them on. Each time I wear them they get more comfortable. Fit was perfect ordered my normal dress shoe size. My only complaint is the white soles, the sides get discolored quick. Wish they were black or dark brown. So I have to clean them well worth it. Highly recommend, they are great.

Superb

Outstanding fit, materials, and craftsman ship. I worked my way through college selling shoes in a high-end shoe store back in the 60s where quality reigned supreme. These are an excellent example of what we once called good old fashioned yankee shoe making. In an age of imported footwear, this is footwear for the ages.
