Description

The Westfield Boot is handcrafted in Lewiston, Maine USA using our Blake Welt Stitch Construction. Westfield boot mixes the classic lines of our best selling Byron Boot with unexpected leather and resilient ripple sole. The result is a truly American Heritage inspired boot. The uppers are finished in C.F Stead Black textured leather giving each pair an unique look. We lasted the uppers on our proprietary 115 last, the same last we use for our dress shoes. Each pair is fully lined. The bottoms are finished with Vibram Ripple soles. The story goes that Ripple soles were patented in 1955 to reduce injuries experienced by Paratroopers when landing. Today, they add a very distinctive look as well as extremely comfortable.

Seems to run small maybe?

I returned them.

I wear 10D in the handsewns lasts and 10E on 115 last. I tried the 10D Westfield Boot as my first time trying D width on the 115 last. I cannot even get the boot on, it's so tight. Is the width really the culprit here or does the boot run smaller than it should? I can't even get the 10D Westfield past my heel. Size 10E on the 115 last goes on very easily and fits like a dream. I figured the 10D Westfield would be similar but narrower, but it feels like I'm trying to put on a boot at least a half size too small.

Maybe Rancourt can chime in on whether this difference between 10D and 10E, both in the 15 last, is expected.

Thank you for the review! Yes, in some case, this can be expected. The reason being is that our handsewn boots are made on our 2952 last which is our roomiest last vs our 115 which runs narrow.
